James Auton
James Auton (28 September 1879 — 22 May 1924 (aged 44)) born in Hartlepool district, was an English rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s and '10s, playing club level rugby union (RU) for either; West Hartlepool R.F.C., in the Three-quarters, and playing club level rugby league (RL) for Wakefield Trinity (Heritage #255), in the Three-quarters, and later the Forwards, during the era of contested scrums,〔Mike Rylance (22 August 2013).
